Steven has grown a strong reputation as a much sought after motivational coach, psychotherapist, sports psychologist and business mentor. He has spoken at events throughout the UK, Europe and North America, whilst working alongside sports & business professionals, organisations, businesses and private individuals, helping them to work towards fulfilling their full potential.
His career started in construction, working as a quantity surveyor full time whilst studying in his spare time. He graduated with a Bsc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying and qualified as a chartered builder. Only a few years later he was promoted to a senior management position in a private contracting company, where he helped the company double its annual turnover from £25million to £50million in the space of 3 years.
Steven continued his thirst for knowledge in his spare time and graduated with a masters degree in Construction Law, majoring in dispute resolution. He qualified as a chartered arbitrator and subsequently was called upon as an expert witness in construction disputes and court cases.
Steven left paid employment to embark on an entrepreneurial journey. He is founder and co-owner of several successful companies with his brother, Kenny Turnbull. His property development company achieved an annual turnover of £3million within 2 years and won national awards, including House of the Year and Conversion of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards.
Steven's passion is helping people to succeed and fulfill their full potential. That is what he devotes the majority of his time to and is the ethos behind Professional Motivation. His skills in this area have led him to being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Business Men's Fellowship, a charitable organisation active in around 100 countires, with over 20,000 members. Steven is also an accredited member of internationally recognised professional bodies such as the International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy (IACP), the International Society of Sports Psychology (ISSP) and the European Federation of Sports Psychology (FEPSAC). He is the author of the critically acclaimed books Live A Motivated Life and Have Confidence, Have Success. His clients include elite sports professionals, business leaders, millionaires and non-profit organisations. Steven has written articles in The Scotsman and Metro daily newspapers. His other media appearances include discussion on BBC TV and Radio.
